So the neo-McCarthyists' strategy for managing higher ed is to attack the profs and administrators with whom they disagree to the point where we taxpayers pay each one of them $1 million to get hired elsewhere?!?

Bubbleversary
Posted by jbholston at 12:29 PM

Many are participating in a blog-o-bration of 5 years since NASDAQ hit 5,043, after which all day traders became real estate brokers.

Om Malik has a bubble-a-thon going, and Ross Mayfield has a beautiful post, in memoriam...

Shorter version:

Then, Boom. Suddenly what were doing all along was called B2B. We raised $35M and $10M in debt overnight. A dearth of B2B equity offerings drove us to go public with sixty thousand in revenue. We went on a roadshow to meet people that had already participated in our oversubscribed offering. Our business model was a fat butterfly, and we had to get fatter.

...But it was too late and the industry collapsed. I moved on, and it wasn't easy.
