The extended family are off for a cruise along Mexico's west coast.

The kids and I toured the maritime museum in San Pedro this morning. Used to be the Ferry building, taking cannery workers and cars from San Pedro to Terminal Island and back.

Amazing to see photos of the Los Angeles Harbor 100 years ago. The memorial wall to the 6200 seamen lost in our wars is humbling. Starkist had its origins here, until the fishing industry petered out in Pedro in the '50s... Read the boat lists -- European, Asian, Russian ... hard-working America ....
