I wrote this short story some time ago. Seems timely, now. Thoughts?

Black day for America
Posted by jbholston at 11:41 AM

... obviously. America's slide back to the 1930s will accelerate, by every measure. End of the great American democratic experiment in the world.

I've talked with a number of stunned and extraordinarily depressed people today. The majority of them had election-day horror stories, as it turns out. None believe the national outcome was legitimate.

More anger and isolation than ever, now. The majority of an entire younger generation is now convinced that this can never be their country.

Colorado managed to be the one state that moved toward progressive policies and people. I don't want to overstate our influence, but I'm sure proud of the assist the Rocky Mountain Progressive Network has provided since we started it 15 months ago.

I'm mulling what I feel the disenfranchised majority in this country need to do next... stay tuned...

Why Kerry?
Posted by jbholston at 09:06 PM

Because there are so many reason to oppose Bush.

But also because there are a large number of reasons to support Kerry.

The right-wing caricature is wrong; Kerry is tough, stalwart, and decisive.

He'll protect the country as well as anyone can.

He'll be more fiscally prudent; more international; and more inclusive.

For the global capitalists among us, Kerry will keep the American empire from sliding into oblivion.

It's all up to the turn-out, now...
