Reagan still dead...
Posted by jbholston at 05:49 AM

I find the 24/7 fawning (and completely unhinged from fact and truth -- read Atrio) Gipperporn/Reagasm coverage to be ... prurient, nearly obscene.

How many images of a very frail 82 year-old woman traipsing behind a coffin do we need to see?

Never happen with Clinton -- or even Carter.

Maybe Schwarzenegger. That one might last longer, given the chemicals in which he's already been embalming for decades ...

Retreat

Looks like the military is simply punting in Iraq.

After pulling out abruptly from Fallujah, we've now apparently released about half of the prisoners from Abu Ghraib.

Right -- we just figured out they didn't need to be interred.

But (all NYT sources)...

Around Baghdad, there was speculation Sunday that armed fighters returning from Najaf and nearby Kufa could spark a surge in violence here in the capital.

The Iraqi Prime Minister;

"What happened in Fallujah and other places will not be repeated."

The Army Brigadier General in charge of operations in Najaf;

"Softer stance? We took a hard line with these guys and killed over a thousand."

As Bush has said, in the long run history will tell all of us...
