Colorado Treasurer -- Cary Kennedy
Posted by jbholston at 10:40 AM

Cary Kennedy is a fabulous candidate for this position. Deeply experienced, responsible, stable.

Mark Hillman, her opponent, is an awful candidate to manage our pursestrings.

Inexperienced, irresponsibly ideological (can you say, TABOR?), and all about party politics.

No college degree. Current position because the Republican Governor appointed him to it.

Hard right on every issue:

1. Against smoking bans, while raisinglots of tobacco money.

2. Opposes tobacco settlement (while taking more tobacco money); which has moved big dollars to Colorado from the big tobacco companie and here; ...);

3. Opposed Referendum C and a balanced budget for Colorado. ( Oposition to balanced budget here and here ; opposition to Referendum C here...

4. His backers are the Grover Norquist/Abramoff 'starve the beast' anti-government crowd (remember how much their leadership helped us with Katrina?).

5. Hillman was one of the original Horowitz cabal trying to get Colorado professors with whom they disagreed fired -- remember that?

NB; ever wonder why all these jobless guys who inherited their money via former farmland oppose the estate tax?

6. Wants your tax dollars to support fundamentalist religious schools...

Stable? When politically expedient, as one GOP commentor on this blog noted about the 41 year-old....

Can't brook these mollycoddled hard-rightwingers who campaign on the basis that they deserve the next position.

(Cronyism starts young for the right; here's a look at Hillman's extremely bizarre Republican Leadership Program Class of '96 -- yikes...)

Look what that's done to our country --- and to Beauprez' campaign.

Cary Kennedy is overqualified for this job -- help get her into it.
