Originally, I felt that Clark would be the "ubermench" that the Dems would need to unseat Bush. In fact, after reading Michael Moore's letter to Gen. Clark praising him for supporting MM after last years Oscars, I was impressed. Then after seeing him do a credible job on Bill Mahr I was even more convinced and remained that way until I saw him in the last 3 debates.

I don't think this guy is Presidential material. He seems to be coated in a kind of Teflon that makes him seem inaccessable. His lack of dedication to the Dem Party doesn't bother me, but his inability to articulate a clear position statement does. I'm probably leaning toward Howard dean at the moment for his openness, his intelligence and his basic demeanor which for some reason I ressonate with and tend to trust.

It's interesting to see Dean survive through each assault. First the Party tried to rally support around Kerry or someone else more 'electable' than Dean -- but he kept rolling. Then Clark arrived, but the polls indicate that his impetus has come out of all the non-Deans. My personal guess is that unless the party rallies complete against him (and it isn't clear they have the power to do so any more), he may be the (apologies to Ms. Braun) man. Of the Dems, he also comes across as most similar to GWB. Direct, not pretentious. Still a ways to go, though....
